Vancouver, British Columbia - Freshwater Fishing Report
Fraser river valley

The Fraser river has what many call the best Sturgeon fishing anywhere on the planet! We have started our Sturgeon fishing season last week with some decent results, and over the past weekend were being filmed by a major outdoors publication(can't name it yet)doing a sturgeon story. April fishing for Sturgeon can be interesting with mixed results, some good days, some tougher days but there's always a fish or more to be found! May is a good month with some bigger fish showing up and warmer water produces better action too! May generally produces quite well. June can be good to except in early to mid when the Fraser is in full freshet. After that it gets quite good. July to November is awesome with plenty of monster fish!

Trout fishing on local rivers has been very good for Bull trout, Cutthroat as they feed on salmon fry. Rainbow trout fishing opens up on the lakes May 1st. We fish on Wilderness lakes 2 hrs out of Vancouver where there are very nutrient rich waters containing excellent numbers of rainbows! This is only fly fishing and good too!
