Trophy Bass Fishing On The St Johns River

2008-02-25 20:45:09
St. Johns River, Florida - Freshwater Fishing Report
Sanford Florida

The past week has been some of the best fishing I have seen so far this year.We have been catching both numbers and size on every trip. Friday and Saturday the 22 nd and 23 rd I guided John and Tammy in the 2008 8th Annual Andrew Scott Johnson Memorial Bass Tournament. This tournament is ran out of Lake Toho but you may trailer your boat to any lake or river that has a public boat ramp. Each day we made the 50 mile trip to the St Johns River to fish and we made the right choice as John and Tammy won first place with a two day total weight of 59.89 pounds.Day one was the best day with our best five fish weighing 34 lbs and day two they brought in a 5 fish limit that weighed 25.89 lbs. The fish are in both post spawn and pre spawn on the river. The shad run is just getting started and the big fish are schooling on shell beds. The next three months the St Johns River will be on fire with the biggest schooling fish you will ever see.

I still have days open in March so if you are looking for some big fish action please give me a call. Thanks From Capt Ed Bussard Guiding Clients To Trophy Bass For 28 Years In Central Florida. www.basschallenger.com 800-241-5314
