Capt. Tom DePersia of Bigfish Charters reports fantastic fishing on Stellwagen Bank this week. Tuna fishing continues to be "HOT" for both Giant Bluefins and School Tuna. The Chris Athas party of Chelsea, MA got 12 nice School Tuna on the Bigfish II keeping only legal limits and releasing all others. The Bigfish III fought a Giant Bluefin for over 45 min. on Sunday before pulling the hook. Several other giants were caught and lost in the fleet that day.
Cod fishing continued good this week with Cod to the mid 30 lb. class and lots of nice Haddock, Pollack, Wolffish and Cusk. The Herbie Mathis party of Corning,NY filled their coolers with lots of 10-15 lb. Pollack and Cod to around 30 lbs..
The Jim Samonetti party of Swansea,MA got a huge Blue Shark estimated to be 350 lbs.plus and lots of Cod and Haddock to boot.
Striped Bass and Bluefish continue to be strong off the Bath House at Provincetown. Lead -head jigs and embrella rigs working best.
