To those of you who have e-mailed me asking about my fishing reports I do apologize. I have been a little busy since my wife gave birth to our second son Gavin Micheal. Mother and baby are healthy and doing great, although we sure could use some sleep. Now onto the fishing reports. Before I had to run off to the hospital we had a couple of days out on the water. When we were not dodging some nasty storms we got a chance to experience some consistent action on the reef. At times we had all six rods go off and that can get pretty exciting when you only have three anglers on board. The most consistent bite has been the false albacores or bonitos. These hard fighting fish will stretch your arms out 2" longer after you have caught a couple.

The kingfish have been around and then they pull a disappearing act. These are some days when you catch several kings and then a slight change in conditions and they disappear. The kings have ranged from the small snakes up to the larger 20# fish with some smokers mixed in.

The mahi-mahi have started to return to our area. In the past weeks they have been very inconsistent. You would here of a couple of fish caught here or there but nothing solid. Suddenly they have reappeared and are starting to make a showing.

If you are not picky as to what you want to catch and just want to opportunity fish then summer is a great time to do it. Throw in the fact that you could pick up a summer sail or wahoo and that makes it all that more interesting.

Till Next Time, Best of Luck…
