<p>The Steelhead fishing season around Vancouver unofficially kicked off on December 26 with the annual Boxing day Steelhead derby and the results are promising for a good return this season that goes from now until late April. The derby winner was a 14 lb fish which is rather big for early season and may be an indicator of large fish this year much like last season where the average Steelhead was about 2 lbs bigger(13-14 lbs) than whats been average for many years(10-12 lbs).

Silversides is conveniently located just 5 minutes from the downtown core and offers free pickup and dropoff from your downtown hotel during Steelhead season.

Our success rate last year for Steelhead trips was that everyone hooked into fish but not everybody landed a fish! we cannot control that aspect.

I hope to see you up here for some great fishing on our rivers!
