The weather was decent last week until Friday. Now we are in what looks like a 5 or 6 day North Easter. Wind 15 to 25 and lot’s of rain to go along with it. We really don’t need more RAIN!!!
I had several trips last week ending on Thursday September 18th. The fishing was not as good as I would like to see this time of year. The water is still way too fresh in the river and the creeks. I did see some large pod’s of Shrimp that were holding some nice size Blue fish and Jack’s.
I did a lot of float fishing but never got on a good bite of big Trout. We had several fish in the 3 to 4 lb range just not many of them. We also caught plenty of small Weak fish (AKA) Yellow mouth Trout.
I had also been catching some over size Reds in the river but they just weren’t there last week for some reason and the Croakers that were on fire had really slowed down.
We caught quite a few (Rat Reds) in the creeks and only a few decent ones. One thing for sure is that the season will be changing and the fishing will only get better.
It’s going to be a little tuff fishing in the wind this week but like I always say, it’s only wind!!!
Thanks to everyone for some fun day’s on the water last week.
