I just got back from Western Australia (Exmouth) where much tackle was lost and strong fish broke rods!! I apologize for taking a long sabatical from reporting. Got out on the Lower Laguna Madre for the last three days to locate the fish and get back in the saddle. Glad to report the Brown Tide is all but gone and there were plenty of fish to cast to. Was able to manage about 10 fish per 3-4 hr. outing. Mostly reds in the 3-5lb. range with a few ladyfish and some 22" trout on the sand. Saw a monster trout in 10" of water but she boogied out before I could get a cast to her. Flies and soft plastics were on the menu and for the most part the fish were hungry. The last day I was able to locate some larger reds

(6-9 lbs.)but the wind was howling by the third day and was bearing down on them just too fast to fire on them. Will stay in better touch. Come on down to S. Texas and bother some fish. Ha!

Fish Species: redfish, trout, ladyfish
Bait Used: flies/soft plastics
Tackle Used: 8wt. fly rod, 6lb. spinning
Method Used: sightfishing
Water Depth: 10-15 inches
Water Temperature: 80
Wind Direction: SE
Wind Speed: 2-5mph 5/3, 6-12mph 5/4, 15-25mph 5/5
