Blow wind, blow! A steady dose of 20 – 25 knot winds for a few weeks will change your perspective. What really is bad wind? At this point, I am convinced it's all good. It is what you make of it… and for me, it has been great. Managing my lightweight Maverick HPX-T in these high winds was tough work at times, but a little extra planning and patience yielded plentiful rewards this week. It is not without advantages either… extreme low tides, long distance casting ability (with wind at your back) and a great topwater bite.

There are plenty of Snook hiding in potholes... with the wind at your back, a long distance approach is easy.

We made short work of a dozen good fish, including two ten pounders and then called it an early morning. It was nice to feel a fish pull again...
