Rick Campbell and his friend headed down to my Silver Side Lodges for a two day fishing trip. Today was their first day and Capt. Shane had the honors to bring them to the redfish mecca!!! Geared up with dead shrimp under a cork they caught over 80 redfish today with over 20 doubles as they fished......
With a limit of reds in the box and the guys wanting to take a break from the redfish craziness they wanted to search for the elusive speckled trout, well the trout are still swimming around because they only found a few.
They were having such a good time early this morning they got on the phone and called a friend in Dallas, they told him to get down here for tomorrows trip, he is on his way and will be fishing with me in the morning.
With the reds very thick the guys want to see if we can catch some puppy drum early then fish the reds for the rest of the day.
If you are fishing in the morning, we are catching reds on the South bank of Lake Robin and the Northern side of Lake Calabasse, we are fishing the windy banks and we are fishing about 30-40 feet off of the banks, the fish are holding on the secondary drop-offs and 30-40ft off the banks will put you there. Also don't fish points, fish big sweeping coves with the winds blowing from your back...
