I had the pleasure of fishing with Mack McClendon and his daughter, Katie, who is in her last year in LSU's Dentistry School. Dad wanted to treat his little girl to a day on the water, and said he didn't care if he caught a thing, as long as Katie does.
We headed straight out to a platform in the Sound and caught a few fish, but it went lights out pretty soon after a nasty tide line blew through.
I made a move closer in at another structure with clean water trickling around it. Anchored up and as luck would have it, a new meaning was brought to "KATIE BAR THE DOOR!!!!" She was reeling them in left and right as I kept her baited and casted out. Dad got a clinic and couldn't take it anymore. He went to the back of the boat and got in on the action.
We picked up our limit of 75 trout by 8 am and headed back to the BSM for the fish cleaning party.
Capt. Jonathan brought a new meaning to beat the heat and caught their limit by 6:25 am.....AMAZING!!! All fish were caught on live shrimp 4' under corks and all avgeraged 2-3lbs. Pretty Sound Trout!
The end of the summer action right now is as good as it's gonna get. NOW IS THE TIME TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF AN AWESOME TROUT BITE!!!
Along with that, DOW CHEMICAL just opened up our books for the Fall Season. This Fall is looking to be one of the BEST by far in YEARS!!!
