Some days we get on the water and all we can catch is small fish on our top water bites. I've seen folks go to big Zara spooks, increase the size of their Pop-R's but finding that big bite seems to be a struggle. We think that the big fish just aren't biting and we start to lose interest in the day and the bite and sometimes call it a day. The tough thing about this retrieve is it will flat wear you down, because you are not just using a fast retrieve you are burning that bait as fast as you can possible move it. The key is not to burn it so fast that it rolls or lies on its side.
