I apologize for the lack of reports.....but I've been at the whip every day for the last 3 weeks, and sometimes twice a day. Been staying at the marina and out of internet access. Easy limits have been the story on what ever species you target redfish or speckled trout. Trout limits have been as early as 7:25 am and as late as 10:30am, for the most part beating the heat!!
I had the pleasure of fishing with Dr. James Robinson from Tulane University, and his two buddies he brought with him.
We started out in Eloi boxing a few fish but the boat traffic kept that to a minimum. Conditions were a little bumpy but flattened the further out we went.
We pulled up to reef in the middle of the Sound and the fish were slamming the Boogie shrimp!
Every cast were double and triple hook ups with solid 2-3lb fish. We slipped on some Mirrolure 5' straight tails in electric chicken and the fish got even bigger!! With in no time the guys had a solid box of pigs! Hit the limit by 9:50 and headed for the BSM to beat the heat!
I'm gonna put it to you short and sweet, NOW is the time to get on the books while we've got a few days still available for July! Fishing is freakin' off the hook right now! BIG TROUT are in the Sound just waiting for you as the 'MOON DAYS' approach! Don't get left at the dock or stuck booking with just 'anyone'!!
