Saturday I had the pleasure to guide Ray Starrett of Texas and his two sons on a great morning of Florida pompano fishing at one of Mississippi's gorgeous barrier islands.

At Ship Island the bite was fast and furious, and big ladyfish and bluefish were providing excellent light tackle fun. However, through all of the high-leaping ladyfish and bluefish, 7 gorgeous pompano were landed in the gin clear shallows.

The guys were worn out by all the action, and we headed back in before noon. The guys could have probably caught over 100 white trout, ground mullet, and specks at the nearshore reefs, but they wanted something out of the ordinary on this day.

They made a good call, and will have some great Mississippi barrier island pompano fishing memories to last a lifetime. Another great morning of fishing in our big backyard playground called south Mississippi.

Regards,

Capt. Robert L. Brodie of TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS
