Fished two locations today, the Point Pleasant Canal and Island Beach State Park. Today the Tautog(Blackfish) limit went up to six from one @ still @ 14 inches until 12/31. Green Crabs, Fiddler Crabs and Clam chunks are choice baits. Didn't have time to stop for Crabs. There is only a three hour window to catch these fish in the Canal. I used Clams that Ihad left over from yesterday's Surf fishing trip. The water was murky and a lot of leaves and pine needles. We still caught 'em ! As far as the beach report ,when we got there nothing but Skates! Strong West winds and out going tide DOESN"Tgo well, they smell the bait from way out there , move in and just sit on your bait. The Striper bite was @ first light. We were in the Canal, sometimes you just can't win.
