Smith Lake

August 21, 2011

I've had a busy week and concluded it with a busy weekend. I had family and friends down at the lake, plus two night trips. That equaled no sleep and one tired guide. Both Friday and Saturday's trips went about the same. We caught a lot of fish each night, with the biggest weighing 22 lbs on Saturday night.  90% of our fish were caught between Ryan Creek Marina and the dam.Sunday morning I fished three spots and boated a stripe over 20lb on two of them. The biggest weighed 26lbs and was caught on a double bucktail rig. I reeled in several 4-12lb stripe on two different umbrella rigs.  One umbrella rig had swimbaits and the other had bucktail jigs. The morning bite is good, but depending on the day it usually slows down between 8:00-9:30am. If you're looking to beat the heat and chase down some stripers, give me a call.

End of the summer special

I am running a special in September to welcome back all the anglers who have been looking for a little cooler weather. I will be offering a 4 hour guided trip for $175, each additional person will be $10 extra. A 6 hour trip will be $225. So give me a call and get your voucher today...vouchers are good for one year.
