Smith Lake

December 13th, 2011

Like I said in my report yesterday, there are stripes all around Goat Island. I had a last minute trip pop up, with a return client. We hit the water at 6am and started around big bridge. We struck out on me first spot and headed for Goat Island. It didn't take long once we got there, by the time I got the second line out we hooked up. We boated fish for over two hours before it slowed down a little. We decided to give them a break and headed to Miller's Flats. Once there we had four swats for ever hook up. None of the fish boated in Miller's Flats were as big as the fish we caught at Goat Island. Caught enough 10-14 pound fish to wear my Clients are out. We caught fish using umbrella rigs, spoons, and swimbaits. All our fish were caught 30-40 feet depth. We did do a little bass fishing from 1-3pm, boated a lot of unders and slots. I'll have pictures up on my website by noon Wednesday, check them out. With only eleven days to Christmas, if your still looking for that last minute gift idea. I have girt certificates for 4, 6, and 8 hour trips. Save up to $45 dollars.
