We were greeted with 20 knot winds out of the East this AM. Not a good situation for outside fishing hot spots. Too rough to get outside, fish comfortably and facing dirty water conditions, we opted to stay close to the marsh and chase redfish. Finding clean saltwater was tricky at first. We hit a few spots on the edge of Black Bay picking up a few redfish on artificial cocahoes. The water was getting dirtier by the minute as the strong incoming tide was pouring in dirty water. We decided to hit some more protected areas inside the Delacroix marsh and it paid off with limits of redfish and then some catch and release action. The reds were 18-28" and wanted artificials and live shrimp carolina rigged. There were a few areas of rain around us, but we stayed dry and had no more than a breif drizzle on us. It was a very pleasant day to be out, cool winds and plenty of cloud cover. The winds are supposed to subside this evening and this weekend should be good. Look for cleaner water and you should be rewarded with fish. Good luck out there this weekend!
