COULD IT GET ANY BETTER?????

The past two days I had the pleasure of fishing with new clients from Georgia. These guys wanted redfish but if the trout were hungry they wouldn't pass them up!!!

Yesterday the storm minnows were everywhere and the predator fish were right behind them eating everyone in sight. We fished MirrOlure Soft Plastics in the Morning Glory/Chartreuse tail color tightlined. The reds and trout were the most aggressive but the flounder were eating good also.

We headed out to Oak River Bay and the catching started. We hit the North Bank and fished all of the small coves and cuts that were normally not accessable on regular tide hight. We anchored and fished the schools of minnows being thrown in the air by fish.

After a limit of reds and about 45 very nice trout we moved over to Drum Bay and it was ON!!! There was a school of over 500 reds feeding like a school of Jacks busting the storm minnows like crazy!!! We pulled up and trolled into the school and the fish were everywhere. The guys started throwing and they hooked up as soon as the baits hit the water.

The reds were so thick that they were running into the boat as they were feeding on the minnows. Tripp, Lee and Perry continued to slam this school until their arms were done!! I couldn't guess how many 12-15lb reds they caught......

I got some great footage of this and will have it on my site soon!!!

Today the guys wanted to catch some reds again, so we headed out to find the school but the minnows were gone and so was the school! We moved over to some broken islands near Lake Robin and we slammed the reds on a very fast current point. The reds were in the current and hitting just as the bait entered the water. We put their 15 reds in the chest within 30min and it was off for fun fishing.

We headed over to the mouth of Bayou Grande and found some birds sitting on the water on a point, we pulled up with a popping cork and the same MirrOlure Soft Plastic and it was redfish and trout mixed on everycast!

We managed to put 66 trout in the box and released about 30 more reds.

Perry, Trip and Lee were good friends of some regular clients from GA and they enjoyed themselves experiencing what Bayou Charters has to offer!!!
