It was a very nice day on the Miramichi today. The water temp 62F and still a bit high for the Main South West Miramichi. There was a fresh grilse caught today by Abbre Buggy of Renous on the Renous River. Some reports of fish seen around the lower stretches of the Miramichi today aswell. Still some trout being caught on the cains aswell today around the Six Mile area. And alot of shad showing this evening just above the mouth of Cains River.

I fished the Doaktown area tonight for awhile and seen no sign of any Silver Salmon. But seen alot of trout around and hooked a few salmon par. If they were a few years older it would be nice! Maybe tomorrow will see better results for hooking into that great Silver leaper!

Flies that I would suggest using would be whitetail green machine number #6 or #4, Shadylady same size with green or red butt, Traditional Shadylady, and give your bombers a try brown with white tails I prefer best. If you go for the Shad use a fast sink tip or a full sink line and get some shad flies from your local shops they will no what you will need. I like the chartreuse color with silver body and white tail and crystal flash.

Until tomorrow night tight lines and have fun at the river.
