Today I had the pleasure of fishing with Pat and Michael Scott of the Clinton, LA area along with their buddy, Eddie. We headed to Eloi and were greeted by filthy water and stiff winds out of the NW. We jumped across and fished around Machias and the small fish like to eat us out of house and home. We burned up 200 shrimp, with only about 30 fish to show.

Capt. Frank called me over and was on a good bite, so we headed over his way and he was generous enough to give us the rest of his bait. Thanks Frank!

We picked up a few there around the channel but the bite was on the decline. The wind was laying just enough to take a shot out so we did. Armed with croakers and Franks leftovers we were able to pull it off! The fish were slamming the croakers and shrimp! We ended the day with 75 trout, caught on both corks and carolina rigged, shrimp and croakers.

Fishing is plain and simple off the hook right now!!! It is the time we talk about every single year!! Even on the windiest of days here lately, it doesn't stop the ice chest from gettin' full up!
