The recent cooler weather has everything biting well and this should continue on until around Thanksgiving or so. The redfish are holding in a bit deeper water and we are finding alot of them in the small creeks and pockets on the side of larger creeks. The Speckled Trout are holding in the same creeks but we are finding them more near the current rips and oyster bars and near the creek mouths. If you find one trout in a spot work it really good…there are probably a few more trout there. The flounder bite is still going strong and we have had back to back to back inshore slams and a few black drum thrown in for good measure!

Now for the easy part. All you need is one bait…. Berkley Gulp! pearl white or glow shrimp on a 1/4 oz Gitzem jig head. One bait and one good creek = lots of fun!

If it's raining or windy…..go anyway! The fish are there. These pics will prove it!

Bio: Like many of us I have my father to thank for my love of fishing. I have been fishing since I can remember. Whether it was going out in his offshore boat looking for kings, fishing for flounder at the end of the street, or bass fishing in the middle of the winter at 5 a.m. with snow on the ground...we did it all. As I got older I took fishing very seriously and acquired numerous techniques to put the fish in the boat. I have both a fresh and saltwater background and have incorporated those techniques and tactics into my fishing arsenal which has become polished over the years and has proved to be very effective. As a Wilmington native, I have been fishing in the Cape Fear region for over 20 years.
