For their 3rd day with I took Matt & Larry to the Oldman. The Oldman was up several feet, was 5-8 degrees F cooler and had several fewer feet of visibility then it had had on Sunday due to the same rains that hit the bow. The previous 2 days the Oldman and southern rivers such as the Crowsnest had been blown out and unfishable so we were pleased with the 2-3' of vis we had.

We started the day fishing tight to shores and shallow ledges which had the best visibility. Matt landed the first few fish and then lost a giant cutty that would've been in the 19-20" range. We crossed the river and found Larry a big cutty feeding in a back eddy. Larry got a couple of eats from the brute but we weren't able to land him.

After lunch we moved downstream and Larry landed a gorgeous fish feeding behind a deflection created by a branch in the water. We dropped below the flies to finish the day but with the sun dropping the fish had really slowed down, and the eats we were getting were getting really hard for the boys to see in the low flat light so we started making our way back to Calgary as I was going to have the boys up early to try and get some big bow river fish on dries.
