Kabetogama/Namakan Fishing Report 12/1/08

Winter like weather has been around the last couple weeks providing safe ice in most bays.

Where there are large expanses of lake the ice remains iffy with recent snow cover.

No word yet on how spearing enthusiasts have fared as most people thought the season opened 12/1 instead of 11/15.

Ice fishing remains slow as ice is deemed unsafe in most areas.

Check our website for ice safety and thickness updates.

Deer hunting continues with muzzleloader season.

Trappers are now getting heavily involved in fisher and martin season that is now open.

Cross country ski trails and snowmobile trails are now snow covered.

State trails are now open - trails will remain un-groomed until additional cold weather and snow are appropriate.
