Kabetogama/Namakan Fishing Report – 1/25/09

The paced has slowed down considerably since the holiday weekend.

Fair weather has been nice for snowmobilers. The present cold blast should help to solidify the slush.

More local anglers are heading out on Kab to some of their favorite holes, but with caution. There is a strong possibility they can get stuck in slush pulling a sled.

Ice jig and minnows have been the best combo; a jig with a minnow head works well for a soft presentation.

Depths near or around 32' seems to be a good number. There have been some reports of nice perch being caught on the west end of Kabetogama.

Snowmobilers' land trails are in awesome condition; lake trails are solid but a rough ride.
