The Klickitat river is expected to get its Spring Chinook reproduction numbers at the hatchery. For this reason the department has opened a fishing season in the drift boat section for two hatchery adult Salmon per day. Season opened Saturday June 13th. It was not fun releasing these fish on Friday while fishing Steelhead. The Klickitat has been tough fishing with the late Spring runoff, I actually had to cancel some of my customers as the fishing conditions were not promising. This will make my 32nd season guiding the Klickitat, I always say if we were to have a bum trip we had better do it on good water conditions.

If you go to my web at www.adventurefishing.net and check out my daily catch in my photo album, you will see the fresh from the ocean quality fishing we have on the Eastern sunny side of the cascades. A Spring Chinook can make it from Bonneville Dam to the whole in front of my house 9 miles up the Klickitat in 24hours How could I know this? will I have caught tagged fish and the date and location from the tag number revealed this. I actually catch fish with sea lice all the way up here.

Looking forward to another great Summer Still have dates to fill.

Always Believing Tracy Z.....
