Greetings All,

Let me start off by apologizing for the late report. It has been a tough couple of weeks here at home.

Camp manager George Felix reports fishing as fair to good on beautiful Lake Huites. The bite continues to be tough as the fish are not recting to baits very well. There is a mirad of baitfish on the banks right now and the fish have an endless supply of food. Client Wally Weiss did manage to coax a few of the big fish into biting. He reports slow action on topwater but the fish that did hit were good ones, with a 11, two 9's and five others in the seven and 8 pound range.

I will be getting a fresh report from Trophy Team member Brett Graham in the next few days and that will offer a lot more insight as to the current conditions on Lake Huites. Brett has been at the lodge for the last seven days and I am sure he will have a lot of good information for us.

I want to take this opportunity to thank all the clients that fished with us this past year. Our season comes to an end the middle of this month. The fishing was excellent for the better part of the season and gradually slowed during the months of April and May.

Well as luck would have it I just recieved a phone call from Brett Graham. He reports fishing as fair to good, with the bite still being tough. They averaged 50 fish per day per boat which is considered slow by Huites standards but good by U.S. standards. Brett had a group of 5 with him and reports client John Scheschuk had the big fish of 9 lb. They caught there fish on chug bugs, bandit crankbaits, and Booyah boogie spinnerbaits. Brett offered some insight as to the slow fishing.... His thoughts were along the same as mine, crystal clear water, and an unbelievable amount of fry inthe lake. Brett said they would see large bass on the points and could not get them to bite anything. I believe the fishing will only get better with time and all signs point to a strong 2007-2008 season.

Like I said before we want to thank all clients who fished with us this past season. We really appreciate your loyalty to Trophy Bass Lodge and the fine folks that make your trip a memorable place to stay.

Trophy team member
