The salmon fishing on Lake Ontario has Red Hot and now that Irene is past us we will see what this week brings.

The largest concentration of fish seems to be between Oswego & Pulaski in 100 to 150 FOW.

Out of Oswego, salmon are hitting Spin Dr & pro-chip flashers in White, green, chrome in front of sweetpea, pro-am, hammer & Big Fin Glow shredded hammer, and live lime A-Tom-Mik flies throughout the day. Before the big blow we were finding fish west & east of the Harbor in 90 to 140 FOW.

There are already good numbers of kings in the Salmon River and this weather will certainly bring more. I saw a few anglers plying the waters yesterday from Rt 2a down through town as the lake fishing was a bust.

On Oneida Lake, smallmouth bass have been active particularly near Shackelton Shoals. Look for walleye in 40 ft. of water using jr. thundersticks in silver/blue and the perch series. We have also had reports of some yellow perch activity in 12 ft. of water in front of well-defined weed beds using fathead minnows.

Same thing goes for the river season through mid November, but now is the time to plan that winter steelhead vacation. Give your self an early Christmas present and book a winter trip; It is fun peaceful and productive. See you out there.

Oneida Lake anglers are continuing to do very well walleye and bass. The deep and shallow water are both producing. Shackelton Shoals, Dutchman's Bar and Lewis Point have been especially active.

The fish are also biting on the Oswego River. Fish with worms, jigs and minnows. There is a variety of fish throughout the river including catfish, sheepshead & bass. Smallmouth Bass are still very active in the harbor as well.

On the lake I have September 6 AM & PM

Sept. 8 AM

September 9th AM & PM

As for the river, I had a cancellation on October 4th. That is all I have for salmon season.

If you want steelhead I still have November 3, 7, 14, 28, 29, 30.

I also have December 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8.

Call me now as they will go fast.

This is Captain Troy Creasy , see you on the water.
