Lake Ray Roberts Fishing Report,

Lake Ray Roberts is about 1 foot below normal level with water temperature 83 to 86. Sand bass fishing is good with topwater schooling happening every morning. The best bait for topwater fish has been my Floatin Thing with clear Tiny Torpedoes and Pop-R's working good also. For the deep fish under the schooling fish we are using Cotton Cordell 3/4 oz. chrome CC Spoons with a Flies-By-Night fly tied 14 inches above the spoon for doubles. One thing we do to help to keep catching fish after the school has gone down is just keep fishing in the area. Sometimes the biggest fish are just hanging around the area and will bite if a bait goes by. A lot of times there is other boats around the schooling fish and they leave as soon as the fish go down and we sometimes have our best fishing after all the other boats leave. Although we have had no trouble getting an ice chest full of fish lately the schooling activity is slowing down as it does in the fall every year. It is not as easy to stay on schooling fish all morning as it was a couple weeks ago and soon the schooling will slow down and the fish will go deep for the rest of the year.

Have fun fishing,

Tim
