Lake Ray Roberts sand bass like the warming water temperatures as we have temps in the low 50's on the main lake now. We have been catching most of our fish from Isle du Bois State Park

to Wolf Island on the east arm of the lake. Best depth this week has been 30 to 35 feet on humps, points, roads and ridges. Cotton Cordell CC Spoon 3/4 oz. with a Flies-By-Night fly tied 14 inches above the spoon is what we are catching them on. As the water warms the fish will become more active and easier to find biting. Now we are having to do some looking to find fish active. The fish we are catching are holding tight to the bottom and it takes using zoom on your electronics to see them. Anybody looking to fill the freezer, April 27th is the next weekend day I have available but have lots of weekdays in April open.

Have fun fishing,

Tim

Bio: Tim is a full time licensed professional fishing guide on Lake Ray Roberts. He has been fishing all his life and for the last 35 years has been a serious bass fisherman. Having fished Lake Ray Roberts exclusively, since it opened to motor boats in 1990, he knows the lake. Prior to fishing on Lake Ray Roberts, Tim lived in East Texas spending a lot of time on Lake Palestine, Lake Athens, Cedar Creek Lake, and Lake Tyler. Fishing for largemeouth bass in the warmer months, and white bass all year round, Tim has always had an obsession with deep water structure fishing. Having spent countless hours on Lake Ray Roberts studying maps and searching the depths with electronics, he knows the the main lake structure on Lake Ray Roberts like the back of his hand. Using triangulation, he is as comfortable fishing spots in the middle of the lake as most fishermen are fishing stumps in the back of a creek.
