Bass fishing is good The Largemouth are being caught on several patterns. Gravel and rocky secondary points are producing well using crankbaits and Rat L Traps. Deeper rocky banks and rip rap with 6 feet of water or more is also producing well. The Spotted Bass are still out on the deeper channel ledges and points. Stroking a 3/8 or 1/2 ounce stanley jig in a crawfish pattern with a Zoom pumpkin seed chunk trailer is working great, crank baits and carolina rigs are working well also.

A shallow running crank bait like the new Gizz 4 crank bait from Smack Tackle www.smacktackle.com is working awesome right now ! It is the best shad imitation crank bait I have ever used ! This is a new bait and I caught fish on it the first time I used it, Spotted Bass, Large mouth and Stripers love them! Use All Pro Rod APX Series www.allprorods.com The Finest Fishing Rods Available Today !

To keep your catch ALIVE for the weigh in make sure you use a Keep Alive Oxygen Infuso2r Aeration system www.keepalive.net

Crappie fishing is great. Fishing the old Coosa river channel drops using minnows and a bottom bouncing rig is a great way to catch some Weiss Lake slabs. The average size crappie this fall has been around 12 inches, once again earning its name as the Crappie Capital of the World! Tie a 1/2 or 3/4 ounce bell sinker on your main line then come up 16 inches and tie a Eagle Claw size 1 snelled aberdeen hook on the line, then drop this rig to the bottom and bring it back up one crank of your reel off the bottom. Fish the drop offs of the old river channels and look for any structure on the drop and work the structure slowly with your trolling motor. Target the 14-18 feet range in the Coosa river channel from the mouth of Yellow Creek, up river to the causeway at Cedar Bluff. Use a quality All Pro spinning rod in 5 or 6 foot length with a medium action .

Striper fishing is Good The stripers are in the coosa river below the cause way in Cedar Bluff down to the dams in Leesburg. Look for the fish on the ledges in 12-20 feet of water, fish a live shad on a down line for some hot action. Down river below the Cedar bluff bridge is holding plenty of fish, fish directly behind the old roadway that makes a point on the down river side. Anytime they are generating power, fish the rocks on either side of the dam and the 2 points at the mouth of the canal. Use live bait or a 3 inch Sassy Shad on a 1/4 ounce jig head. The White Bass and Yellow Bass are schooling on top early and late in the main lake, look for flats near the old river channel near Yellow Creek. Use a White or Yellow Rooster Tail or a Little George for lots of action.

Use a All Pro Rods Striper Special APX series. www.allprorods.com The Finest Fishing Rods Available Today !

To keep your live bait Alive make sure to use a Keep Alive Bait Tank and Oxygen Infuso2r Aeration System www.keepalive.net

Catfish are biting great. The bigger catfish are biting awesome. The docks at JR's Marina are producing some 20 to 40 pound Blues every night. Use a Crappie head or rib cage with no weight and use at least 25 pound test line. If no crappie heads are available use cut bream.
