Hello Grand Lakers!

We fished up Spring River four times this week and limited-out on whites each time except on the Saturday trip. There was a huge crowd of boats there on Saturday. It is a lot better if you can go during the week. We did catch several Saturday but the fish were acting strange (maybe all the boat traffic) and we didn't catch them as well as some other boats did.

Do you have days you can get bites but miss most of them and when you do hook one it comes off before you can get it to the boat? That was our day Saturday.

The black bass are biting fairly well on spinnerbaits, rouges, tubes and jigs. By the time you read this I expect the bite to be really good.

We are catching some 12 to 13 inch crappie in about five feet of water. The crappie spawn is just about here.

Plan to attend the meeting with the state wildlife people about the crappie fishing on Grand. The meeting is going to be at the community center in Grove on March 20th at 7:00 p.m.

The spoonbill snaggers are doing great above the Elk River area but the fish are not up to Twin Bridges yet.

I haven't talked to any catfishermen this week but I'll bet they are biting. I would fish shallow flats where the wind is blowing into the flat.

Got to go to get ready to fish again today.

See you on Grand!

Ivan
