With fishing season soon aproaching on April 15th/2007 and the colder weather that we are having is keeping the river ice solid for the start of the season. There are a few places that you can wet a line in the smaller rivers like the Cains and Bartholomew river. The South West Miramichi has a few spots open but only a few! The North West Miramichi is still frozen solid with very heavy looking ice.We need some warmer weather or rain to raise the river to get the ice moving.But if your looking for a spot to get fishing on opening day keep an eye on the Cains River for it has alot of open water ready to fish.
