Now that fall has started and the weather is cooling off, the crappie will start a feeding frenzy to fatten up for the winter. Here at Lake Ray Roberts the crappie bite has already picked up. We have been catching from 100 to 150 crappie in about 4 1/2 hrs, not all keepers but some great action. The bigger fish are showing up more and more each day as the water cools off. We've been catching most of our fish on minnows but the jig bite is improving each day. The crappie are still scattered from 6 ft to 30 ft of water, the best cover to fish is brush piles at this time. Fish are beening caught in the timber and under the bridges but just not as big of numbers.

Ray Roberts is still in pretty good shape even with our big drought this summer, it's about 5' low. The water temp is in the upper 70's to low 80's.

The month's of October and November will be excellant fishing for crappie, so I hope you can join in on the fun. Visit my web site ( www.spindleguideservice.com ) and check out my Fall Special on crappie. Whats better than fall crappie fishing? Fall crappie fishing at a discount.

Have a great day,
