Overall Catch Success Rate 71.42%

BILLFISH: With the full moon, the fish have much more light to hunt at night, and although there are many fish around, they were full by sunrise making it hard for anglers to catch them. However, the billfish catch success rate rose to 63.5% more than10% from last week. "Rebecca" released 2 striped marlin for Evan & Alex Fershtman from Spring, TX. Next day on a last minute booking the 22ft center console Panga "Marina II" caught a 130lbs striped marlin and a 30lbs rooster fish for two beautiful Texan ladies, Lauren Powell from Houston and Kathryn Fish from Austin. On August 10th, "Adriana" released 3 striped marlin and landed a small dorado for Tina Jones from Ridgfield, WA. Same day, "Shambala" released 2 pacific Sailfish for Johnny Mac Powers, Stacey and Jay Roberts from Rockwall, TX. Mike Gordon from Chicago released a Blue Marlin aboard the "Great Escape" on Aug 11th. A total of 24 billfish were caught this week, 22 were released.

OTHER SPECIES: A bit slow on small game, with only 50% of the boats catching dorado and 20% catching tuna. There were a few skipjacks and roosterfish caught on pangas. Catch of the week goes to "Shambala" with 3 yellowfin tunas, first one 100lbs, second one 80lbs and the third 50lbs, for Johnny Mac Powers from Rockwall, TX and our very own Mario Bañaga, one more fish and it would have been a sardine.

Company: Pisces Sportfishing

Area Reporting: Cabo San Lucas - Mexico

Bio: We started off as a family owned and operated business out of the City of La Paz, Baja, Mexico in 1978 with one 28 ft boat. A couple of years later we moved to Cabo and since then we have grown to be the largest and most respected charter fleet in Mexico. To keep pace with the growth of a more sophisticated market we gradually added more vessels and can now offer everything from the basic Baja Panga to mega yachts. Still, the favorite of most Cabo visitors(28-31ft) standard cruisers, seaworthy, clean boat, with very experienced crews which are great value for money. Slightly larger(32-48 ft), newer model, vessels with more comfort like salons and air-conditioning. Over 50 ft Sportfishers usually being new high tech vessels with great speed and more range. Last but not least, the Luxury Yachts, most being multi-purpose - fishing, cruising, snorkeling, diving -ideal for those want to be pampered with the very best. What sets us apart are the relationships we form with our clients, long-term; our focus is service, value for money and experienced crews. We have a proven track record that keeps our guests returning year after year.
