As the fall season kicks off in Punta Mita, Mexico, fishermen from around the world eagerly gather to fish the waters of Banderas Bay and prepare for incredible fishing along with some international fishing tournaments. Weather Conditions:

In October, Punta Mita has some big changes in climate that sets the stage for exceptional deep-sea fishing charters. With water tempertures dropping and making fishing condistions idea. The summer heat gives way to more moderate temperatures, making it a pleasant time to be out on the water. Expect daytime temperatures to range from 75°F to 85°F (24°C to 32°C), ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable fishing experience.  Our rainy season ends in the month of October 15 the and opens up some of the best fishing of the year.

Fishing Opportunities:

Marlin Madness: October marks the peak of marlin season in Punya Mita. The nutrient-rich waters of Banderas Bay attract both blue and black marlin, offering anglers the chance to reel in huge fish. These huge blue/black Marlin  can reach weights exceeding 600 pounds, providing anglers with the ultimate test of strength and skill.

Dorado Delight: Dorado, also known as mahi-mahi or dolphinfish, are in full swing during October. These vibrant, acrobatic fish are a favorite among sportfishermen for their striking colors and delicious taste. You can expect to encounter schools of dorado, with many individuals weighing between 20 and 60 pounds. On the days we catch these fish schooling it’s a sight to be seen.

Tuna Thrills: Yellowfin tuna are another highlight of October's fishing scene. These agile predators are abundant, often feeding close to Corbetena and schools of baitfish. Anglers targeting tuna will appreciate the fierce battles these fish put up, with specimens weighing up to 300 pounds not uncommon. When the tuna is not hitting at the Corbetena we go to El Banco where the bait is plentiful and water conditions are perfect for tuna fishing in Puerto Vallarta.

Sailfish Spectacle: Sailfish are a year-round attraction in Punta Mita, but their numbers increase in October. Known for their distinctive sail-like dorsal fin and impressive speed, sailfish offer thrilling catch-and-release opportunities.  The sailfish is the fastest fish in any ocean and spectacular to catch anywhere. October is an excellent time to target these majestic creatures.
