We have had some very cold and wet weather the past several days. The cold weather will continue for the next 6 to 7 days according to the long range forecast. My trip 2 days ago was very cold on the water. We did manage to find some Redfish off of one of the deep channels between Aransas Pass and Port Aransas in Redfish Bay. This time of the year the better fishing is between 10:00am and 4:00pm. That is the warmer part of the day during January. The Reds we caught we caught freelining on bottom in 3 to 4 feet of water off the the main channel using live mullet. Trout fishing has been slow for the past 7 days or so due to extremely cold weather we are having. It was drizzling on us the entire time we were on the water. Water temperature was from 44 degrees to 46 degrees depending on depth and proximity to deeper channels. Trout will start to bite better when we get some warmer weather and sunlight. Contact me for any information you may need in booking a future trip In The Heart of South Texas fishing for Redfish and Trout. I can provide you with lists of places to stay on the Island and Mainland for your convenience.
