The weather has warmed up in Beach Haven and so has the reef fishing. The captains of the Beach Haven Charter Fishing Association are reporting some very nice trips on the inshore wrecks and artificial reef sites.

George Finck of "Sparetime Charters" had a great reef fishing trip with Chuck Faith from California and his friend Randy Bryant. With a water temperature of 69.6-degrees, they found steady action on 18 black sea bass along with 9 sea robins and a shark also released which were all released. Another day Captain George had Dennis and Nicole Kelly along with family out to the reef fishing. The day produced good action with an array of fluke, black sea bass, bluefish, and skates caught.

Captain Carl Sheppard had the "Star Fish" out in the ocean bottom fishing several days recently. His angler Rosie DeBarberie of Clifton Heights, Pa., noted she "never literally dropped my line so many times to reel in fish right away. "One day produced over 200 fish of assorted species followed by another great trip the next day. He found the best sea bass fishing in the shallower waters. Captain Carl noted that there are still ling if you fish the deeper waters, and when you bring the fish up, they feel as if they had been on ice.
