Steelhead fishing in the winter on cold days can be only half the challenge. Hoping the fish want too bite is another part of the battle.

Today was -11f Too start the day, But soon heated up as the action improved as the sun came up. No need to start at o dark thirty when its this cold.

The upper river is ful of fish just waiting for the right condition. Blue white and pink egg sacs or glow roe trout beads are working well. Floats or side drifting has been the most successful technique as of late.

Fishing slow and close too the bottom is producing the most fish.

The ice fishing on sandy pond has picked up a little over the past week. There is plenty of safe ice, But care should be taken when heading out on the frozen water.
