Fish the upper part of the salmon river over the past few days. The water was running very high but dropped to 750 cfs. This change cocentrated the fish in the more tradional winter holding spots on the river.

Float fishing with the center pin has been very productive as well as bottom bouning in in the shallower fast runs.

Plugging seems to be hot and cold. One day we gettum good with the plugs and the next day it's so-so.

With the water at a more fishable level it will make bank angling easier. we are using the drift boat to cover more water.

The fishing should continue to be very good in the upper river but will continue to see the most traffic. To get away from the crowds fish the middle section of the river, anywhere between pineville and 2a should be good. The sportsman pool will be holding a large number of fish.
