Fishing 24-7 Guide Service

After taking Thursday - Saturday off, to make sure my son had a good birthday. I finally got on the water Sunday, I took a client of mine that fished with me in August, Scott Harris. I need to find out what had changed on the lake,  and figured he would enjoy coming with me.  We spent  almost all day out there and here's what we found.  Sunday morning we had fog till almost 8am and saw no topwater action.  But when the fog burned off and the sun started to show it self, it started.  Bass that is, busting on and off all day. We had planned to look for stripe all day, but the bass keep busting, so every once in a while we stopped and fished them.  We caught bass on topwater on several points with a real nice spot jumping off before we landed him.  We also fished in some pockets, where we caught several ranging from small to about 4 pounds.  We saw bass roaming the shallows in 3 feet or less. We caught our biggest bass of the day in 5 feet of water, a 4 pound spot on a shakey head.  Topwater wise, we fished two different styles of baits.  One was a vixen and the other was the jr Kelly J  prop bait.  The Kelly J prop bait by Lucky Craft was by far the hottest bait yesterday. As for stripe we caught one, we spent most of our time chasing them.  After running into a brick wall for most of the day, we pulled the plug on the stripe fishing and went back to bass.  Stripe are still very deep and spread out.  Bass are on fire and anyone looking to go bass fishing should give me a call.

We are only days away from November, take advantage of my customer appreciation month.  Get $10-$30 in Mark's Outdoor gift certificate if you book a trip in November.(one per person, max of three people per trip)

Also, I will have my hand tied umbrella rigs at Mark' s within a week.  I am getting my display ready and should be finished this week.  Checkout my website to see some of the kinds available.

So if your interested in fishing Smith Lake give me a call or email
