On the South West Miramichi today on the lower section the water temp was 61F.With very little wind and the sun setting nice in the sky.

We got into nice Trout around 10 to 14 inch range. There was a couple more anglers near by getting a few Trout aswell. We also seen some Shad moving around but decided not go for them today.

On the North West miramichi today was rumors of a 20lb Bright Salmon being landed just below the Minors Bridge. And also some good size Sea Trout from 2 to 5 pound range.

On the Bartholomew River over the weekend some anglers canoeing got into some nice Trout from 10 to 14 inch range. And seen lots of sign of brook trout in the river while sailing.

On the Cains River over the weekend anglers canoeing also got into some nice trout around the 10 to 14 inch size. Next weekend may be the weekend to sail the Cains and get into the fresh run of sea trout if your felling lucky.

The Main South West Miramichi river is still a little high for the lower stretches. But it is getting great for dry fly fishing when you see the trout taking the bugs of the top of the water even if it is a little high.

Bye for now,

Rodney Colford
