The Neuse River has had a great summer for redfisherman. Plenty of over the slot red drum have been taken from the banks and docks near and out of Oriental. Live and cut mullet have been the most productive especially during the late mornings and afternoon. Soft plastic have put plenty of fish in the boat earlier in the day as well as some on the long rod. Specks although not have plentiful as past summer have made up for numbers bu size and we're seeing plenty of 4 and 5 pound trout. Early AM top water fishing has been great! We are also landing flounder and black drum with tarpon showing as well as the giant reds.
