Crappie - Crappie bite today was good. We did some scouting around for some trolling fish and they are finally showing up. We hit the water late today around 1:00 pm and still managed a good catch of 20 good keeper crappie with about 10 throw backs. We caught all our fish trolling shallow water coves with 6 to 8 feet of water on the lower lake. We were pulling 1/32 ounce jig- heads with Southern Pro Hot Grubs. Fish were hanging high today soaking up the much needed sunshine. Water temps today were around 47 degrees in the coves we checked. Best colors for use today were Blue/Chartreuse and Popsicle. Also seen some good catches coming from the same coves with the fly and cork technique. I look for the trolling bite to get even better as the waters continues to warm up. We have a cold front coming the middle of next week that might slow down the bite a little but the weekend forecast is looking real good. We are now booking 2011 Spring dates so call and get your date reserved on Weiss Lake today...! Good Fishing...!
