Friday I had Connie and Bobby Depew from Gonzales LA down for their first fishing trip in Hopedale LA. The wind was blowing pretty good but that would not stop Connie and Bobby from catching box full of fish. We had to find some protected water to fish and it was not long and the trout were coming. Catch a few and move was the pattern until we found steady bite where the water was draining out of a pond. Live shrimp and bayside plastics under a cork and they had the limit of trout on ice. Off to the redfish well we caught them everywhere but most were to small until but Connie and Bobby both landed bull reds in some shallow water with the drags screaming. The wind was pushing 30 mph by noon so we called it a day before it got too rough.
