910-619-8509 captain mike hoffman..the weather is getting better everyday, the water temp is at 62, the water is stained, the bait is schooled up,which only means one thing, the best bite is here!!!most of the fisherman around the topsail beach, wrightsville beach area are hitting the jetties hard, but fighting the crowd is not the thing for me. ive been finding bigger and bigger schools of trophy size trout and reds along the icw creeks. the seem to like the creek mouths on the fall and run way,way,way.. in the backs on the rise. doa shrimp, gulp baits, topwater, crankbaits are still my choice of lures.in case most of you have not noticed there are alot of 12-14 inch fish in the area...hmmmm?how do i catch the big ones? try fishing late evenings till about 2 hours past dark.thats when the big boys like to feed..
