What a fun day of fishing today was!

It all started when a young lady Micki from Westin Florida called me and chartered the boat for this morning. She had brought along 5 of her 6 children. That's right 5 of the 6 where I come from we call this a heard. (LOL) Micki brought Sam her only daughter and Alex, Ryan, Daniel and Aaron. Now I am a parent and I feel safe saving that most kids are ether smart or tough but these kids were both smart and tough. I could not believe some of the questions that Daniel was asking and he not only asked questions he unlike most adults waited for the answers. And Aaron not only being a gymnast who had broken his arm in I don't know how many places was also a karate fighter.

Ok so back to the fishing we started out trolling the reef and the king fish and bonitos were just plain BITING and we were catching them left and right. We worked our way down to the south to a ship wreck in about 110 feet of water. Once we were getting close to the wreck we had caught a bonito and we kept him alive and brought in all the trolling gear and set out this frisky live bonito with 3 big hooks in him and slowly trolled him over the ship wreck. From there it did not take long till it got CRASHED by a monster barracuda and we were Hooked Up.

Aaron had not left the side of the rods since we started our trip so it was only right to let him get first shot. Aaron jumped in the chair and the fight was on. It took a good 10 min till he finally got his fish to the boat. That's a big Barracuda

Nice going Aaron things were looking great except for one thing. As it turned out Daniel did not want to be shown up by his brother and we had no more live bonitos.

So instead of trying the same wreck again we went a little further south to another ship wreck that sat about 225 feet down and this time we sent a blue runner down to the bottom.

I've got to say that this was one of those days that we could do no wrong. The second we got the bait down the rod bent over and line started peeling off the reel and yes once again we were Hooked Up.

This time Daniel jumped in the chair and the fight was on. This one took a little longer to get to the boat but once Daniel got this big amber jack to the boat it was all worth it.

Micki and the rest of the gang thanks soooo much for a great morning of fishing and laughing.

Once we got back to the dock we did not have an afternoon trip but I had such a ball during our morning trip and I was just shooting the breeze with everyone that came down the dock when all of a sudden a Daniel and Helene just happen to drive up to the boat. I just started talking to them about fishing and while they were not thinking about going fishing they decided that it just might be a fun thing to try. So off we went with our new friends from Montreal Canada for a little deep sea fishing.

Truth be told fishing was not as good as it had been in our morning trip but I don't think in all my years of fishing I've seen two people happier to be out on a boat and catching a few king fish and bonitos.

Daniel and Helene thanks a bunch and as I said on the boat we seemed to have hooked you guys on fishing more than hooking fish so we are looking forward to fishing with you this January.

To everyone that fished with us today thanks so much for reminded me why I fish for a living.
