[Fort Lauderdale,FL] Dad and sons have a great day Fishing Fort Lauderdale June 10th, 2013 Today it was not just that we had a banner day of fishing off the coast of Fort Lauderdale. It was that we had a banner day while fishing was slow. Little to no fish were caught by the other boats. We fished with Brain and his sons Konnor and Garrett from Plantation Florida.

We started out trolling and caught 4 bonitos and 2 black fin tunas. Once we had a few fish in the box so we switched from trolling to kite fishing with live and dead baits suspended from the kites and a couple more shark baits down deep.

[Fort Lauderdale,FL] This afternoon we had a regular angler who has fished with us in the past and has landed some big fish aboard the Hooked Up. Today Shawn brought along his 13-year-old son Kyle along with his wife and daughter Lynette and Shalyn from New Fond land Canada. Last year they had caught a big sailfish fishing with us aboard the Hooked Up so this year we were looking for a BIG shark. As you have heard in the past be carful what you hope for!!

Today we had good north current and crisp blue water and off the coast of Fort Lauderdale this time of the year with these great conditions it can mean SAILFISH. So that just what we were after with 2 kites flying high and 2 baits suspended from each kite. The trap was set and from there it wasn’t long till we got our first bite.

[Fort Lauderdale,FL] Great Shark Fishing Off Fort Lauderdale Today we started out fishing with Ron from Vero Beach Florida and Bob from Hernando Florida. We started out trolling the reef looking for some good eating fish for these guys but all we caught was 1 kingfish and a small black fin tuna.

[Fort Lauderdale,FL] Kite Fishing in Fort Lauderdale with George and Barbra February 1st, 2012 Here we are on the first day of Feb. and what a great way to start out the month. We had Barbra and George from New York aboard and Big Game was the kind of fish we were after. On our way out we picked up a dozen live baits from the bait boat and went right out to 130 feet of water and sent out both our fishing kites with 2 live baits suspended from each kite.

[Fort Lauderdale,FL] We started out trolling the reef with our planner boards down about 45 feet and 3 baits skipping on the surface but as it turned out trolling the reef was slow today with us only catching 1 kingfish. Ok time for plane B. So in came the trolling gear and out went the kites with live baits suspended from them. While we were thinking we might get lucky and catch a sailfish we never expected a shark to pop up in 120 feet of water.
