Company: Pisces Sportfishing

Area Reporting: Cabo San Lucas - Mexico

Bio: We started off as a family owned and operated business out of the City of La Paz, Baja, Mexico in 1978 with one 28 ft boat. A couple of years later we moved to Cabo and since then we have grown to be the largest and most respected charter fleet in Mexico. To keep pace with the growth of a more sophisticated market we gradually added more vessels and can now offer everything from the basic Baja Panga to mega yachts. Still, the favorite of most Cabo visitors(28-31ft) standard cruisers, seaworthy, clean boat, with very experienced crews which are great value for money. Slightly larger(32-48 ft), newer model, vessels with more comfort like salons and air-conditioning. Over 50 ft Sportfishers usually being new high tech vessels with great speed and more range. Last but not least, the Luxury Yachts, most being multi-purpose - fishing, cruising, snorkeling, diving -ideal for those want to be pampered with the very best. What sets us apart are the relationships we form with our clients, long-term; our focus is service, value for money and experienced crews. We have a proven track record that keeps our guests returning year after year.

[Cabo San Lucas,BJ] We were very much encouraged to see a climb on marlin catches this week, in fact forty-seven percent of our charters caught striped marlin, this is right on schedule with what scientists told us months ago, that fishing would pick up as the La Nia current comes to an end in the latter part of April.

[Cabo San Lucas,BJ] Marlin catches are still rather slow, but our overall catch success rate was up this week. Latest Fish Report Cabo (1/24/2011)
[Cabo San Lucas,BJ] O.K. things are a bit glum on the marlin front this week and anybody telling you otherwise is not being truthful. So what's the problem, first off mackerel have not been readily available for bait, then we had full moon this week and water temperatures have been varied, combined with that is the fact that marlin are far and wide, so yes, some have been spotted but few have been tempted to eat. This is typical of March fishing, but we are in January!
Latest Fish Report (1/20/2011)
[Cabo San Lucas,BJ] Tuna catches are on the lead again with forty four percent of our boats catching between one to twenty two fish. We are still missing the good fishing of January for stripers like the past years, but the odd weather has made a change this year. The water is too cold that feels like March, some of our anglers had even seen some swordfish; it's early for their season.

Latest Fish Report Cabo (12/14/2010)
[Cabo San Lucas,BJ] It looks like the marlin are still not very hungry as we had a decrease this week; many of our boats saw billfish in the area but only thirty percent of around a third of charters managed hook ups. Based on this a fair amount of anglers opted to go for tuna and dorado instead.
Latest Fish Report Cabo (12/05/2010)
[Cabo San Lucas,BJ] BILLFISH: This week it tended to be feast or famine. We had some superb catches at the start of the week, and then went to days to where many boats got skunked despite determined efforts by the crew. In pretty much all cases crews saw fish, threw bait to them, changed lures, switched tactics and still could not get them to bite. It seemed as if they simply were not hungry. Added to this there was a drop in water temperature and some cold currents came through Cabo which threw the fish off.
Latest Fish Report Cabo (11/28/2010)
[Cabo San Lucas,BJ] This week saw a slight decrease on billfish catches as a beautiful, huge full moon was present during this period, causing marlin to gorge themselves during the nighttime hours and be less hungry during the day. Added to this was a lack of live bait. Nevertheless seventy percent of our boats caught billfish, consisting almost exclusively of striped marlin.

Pretty much all the boats returning to the dock with flags, though there has been the occasional vessel that couldn't hook up despite seeing fish and throwing bait to them
Latest Fish Report (11/08/2010)
[Cabo San Lucas,BJ] As we had the tuna tournament this week, many of our boats were focusing on the big tuna; which is the reason we saw a decrease on the billfish catch rate; with seventy percent of our boats catching billfish this week still an excellent percentage anywhere in the world.
