Another windy day in Delacrox. I had planed to venture outside and check on some islands, reefs and rigs, but my guests and I decided to stay protected and work on the inside bite. A strong rising tide and brisk SE winds had the water moving well all day. We set up on choke points and casted cross current. The resulting trout were 12-20" with a few throwbacks. The fish were not on the bottom, but suspended along the shelf and onto the flats. We worked artificial lures, live croakers and a few live shrimp and pogies we cast netted up. The trout wanted the artificial cocahoes on a 1/4 ounce jighead in smoke and alvacado colors. The first few spots were productive, but we were not setting the world on fire. The last spot proved to be the charm with double and triple hookups frequent. A great trip and a short run from ther dock! Good luck out there this week!
