Light winds this morning for a change. We got a late start due to some electrical complications with the live well aerator. Had to run new wiring and got it purring like a kitten. With a live well full of croakers, we headed out. By the time we got a quarter of the way to Black Bay the winds had picked up out of the SE. Made a quick detour to some deep winter time holes and found the trout ready to feed. The live bait did OK under corks up on flats adjacent to the holes, but the artificial lures were champ of the day again. The bite was odd and the fish were not aggresive at all. The line would just feel different or heavy and with quick reeling, a trout would be hooked. The trout wanted artificial cocahoes on 3/8 ounce jugheads. The hot colors were alvacao and smoke. We had alot of throwbacks today on the trout, but the fish that filled the box were no doubters 14-18". We also got into a few redfish, black drum and one flounder to round out the box. A beautiful day on the water and constant action! I know the big girls are on the outside, but it is hard to pass up the solid inside action on windy days. Good luck out there this weekend!
